Cathgory Norms of Korean for Elementary School Children

ABSTRACT
The present study was conducted to provide category norms (exemplar frequency and typicality) of Korean to be used for research and development of language and memory tests for elementary school children.
Methods
One hundred sixty-one children (87 boys and 74 girls) were given tests of eight categories: animals, fruits, kitchen utensils, school supplies, clothing, flowers, vegetables, and toys. Production frequency and typicality for each category were evaluated. Results &
Conclusion
We found significant differences between this current norms on elementary school children and data reported on university students in the previous study. These results suggest that age-specific Korean category norms are needed.
