ABSTRACT

Background & Objectives
The purpose of this study was to administer the Korean Token Test for Children (KTC) which was the Korean version of Token Test for Children-Second Edition (TTFC-2) and to examine the reliability and validity of the test.
Methods
The KTC was administrated to 1,018 normal Korean children aged from 3;0 to 12;11, divided into 15 age groups. Internal consistency reliability and split-half reliability were investigated. Correlation among total and subtest scores was examined for the content validity. Total and subtest scores of age groups and gender were compared for the construct validity.
Results
Descriptive statistics on performance for each age level and developmental trends across age level were reported. Both internal consistency reliability and split-half reliability were significantly high. Significantly high correlation among total and subtest scores were observed. Different age groups demonstrated different total and subtest scores with the trend of increased both scores by aging. However, there were no different total and subtest scores observed by gender.
Discussion & Conclusion
This study revealed that the KTC is a valid and reliable tool for measuring auditory comprehension as well as working memory skills in Korean children
